This was my big project for the week- another new flower bed. This weekend, we hope to double its size. It's hard sodding alone! I put in castor, broom corn, little bluestem grass, Joe Pye weed and hollyhocks, all dark, maroon-y colors. I'll add more of the same on the other side, plus some chocolate grass- oh and chocolate mint! Most of the plants are really tall so it'll act as a privacy fence later in the season. There used to be a sorry- looking scrub pine there. Those little white things sticking out of the ground are my white trash garden markers- plastic knives with the plant names written in Sharpie.
