A Bizarre New Word

Balanophagy: acorn eating, from the Greek balanos, "acorn" + phagein, "to eat".

Whodda thunk it? Maybe there really is a word for everything. I think of the internet as a bread crumb trail. I see something neat on one site, then follow that crumb elsewhere, like primitive stumbling. This morning, balanophagy was the crumb.

I know this has nothing to do with anything and is probably completely impractical. And that's probably exactly why I like it. Up with irrelevance! Up with balanophagy!

One last thing. It occurs to me that I just practiced bananaphagy. Hoo-wah- I can make words too! Gotta love Greek.
