Laburnum anagyroides

Last spring I bought a seed and grew it in a pot. By fall it was a tiny tree and we planted it. Well, my mister did since my leg was broken. You can barely see it here, but there is a tomato cage around it in the foreground (to the right of the iris clump).

This is what it looks like now.

And this is what it will look like when it's all grown up. I think I have to wait about four years for it to get to bloom size. It's common name is golden chain tree, it's poisonous and it looks like yellow wisteria.

PS: Yes, I know there is a dead birch tree in the background of the top photo. We do not want to talk about that. It makes us sad.
