The Money Shot

Y'all know we don't show our faces on here, so this is as close as you'll get to a real shot of me in the dress.  I love this dress.  It's circa late 50s or very early sixties and I found it at a little boutique downtown.  Made me full on feel like a princess!

PS:  Now it's pretty much trashed because the ground was still saturated/ muddy.  It'll have to get shortened a bit cuz no way is that hem coming clean.  It was worth every minute.

The dress is beautiful. My daughter's wedding dress went through the same wet wedding and the bottom was pretty bad. You just might try the cleaners before you cut it down. It is so beautiful.

I know....the Mister and Mrs. can't reveal their faces.....but just to wet your curiosity, I will give you a clue....The Mrs. looks like a famous actress from TV and films.....so much so, she could be her stunt double!! Yup, she got the Mister, the Monster and the Movie Star good looks!

Aw shucks, CG, and thanks, Karen! I still have it hanging on the treadmill, not ready to stop looking at it yet :) Did you ever get the mud out of your dress? I heard that it really can't be done and I'd be wasting my money to try.

nope! my mom had it pro-cleaned and everything. there's still about 3in of dirt in it.
but that's ok cuz I got fat and can't even wear it for fun anymore.
*sigh*....someday.

Karen, this mofo wouldn't zip up past my ass when I first tried it on. My alterations guy took it apart, built gussets for the sides and arms and MADE it fit. I knew you could make dresses smaller, had no idea you can make them bigger. Me, I'm lazy. I'd rather get it made bigger than try to make myself smaller.

Bring the dress to an artist and have them pain a garden on the hem and make it the official annual garden party dress!

You will be having an annual garden party right?

A garden party in July would be awesome- that's when the daylilies are really strutting their stuff. Only problem is that so many people go away in July!
