
Last night's storm was a little scary. This was what the sky looked like afterward.

And this is the sacrifice that we make to the Rain Gods every year.
They like smashed peonies.

This is how we are rewarded for our sacrifice
(plus vases full of fallen peonies for the house).

The buckets get emptied into the rain barrel. This scuzzy back area is what
makes so much beauty possible in the gardens. Love me some scuzz.
