This is my favorite time of morning. I get up just a bit before sunrise when it's too dark to not have the lamp on. I sit and have my coffee, read, write sometimes. Then I get up to get another cup or let Barney out and realize it's gotten bright enough to turn the lamp off. So begins the day, but today is not like that. It's so dark and rainy and dreary that the lamps will probably be on all day. And it's colder than average out. Time to call the chimney sweep.

I am so sorry to hear about the cold,but a thought just came over me, It better warm up, cause I am going to be there in about 14 teen fricken days. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
We had rain today, so it was dark and cloudy when we woke up. What a pleasant break from the heat. We have a gas fireplace and I remarked tonight that it was about time to start a fire. Fall is falling.
I want clear skies and more heat but yeah, time to get realistic. I scheduled a chimney sweep for next week.
Don't worry, Sid. We'll have the wood stove AND the fire pit up and runnin'! (But bring a sweater or jacket just in case!)
